Safety can now be extended in a modular way

With LION, analog and/or digital safety and non-safety assemblies can be operated together on the same bus. A separate network installation for processing safety-relevant signals is thus no longer required. Another advantage: Safety I/O process modules can be installed on the LION at a later stage.

With the modular design of the LION, depending on the task, various different modules like power supplies, bus couplers as well as digital and analog input and output modules can be connected and functionalities combined. Thus only those modules need to be installed that are really required for the respective area of application. Up to 32 I/O modules can be used in almost unlimited combinations.

The LION remote I/O system supports all bus systems available on the market, from CAN-Bus and MVB up to the Ethernet protocol (CIP, IPTCOM and PROFINET). By replacing the bus coupler, users can easily switch between different fieldbus systems.
